Easter Anticipation

This is the last day of March 2010 and the first weekend of April is racing upon us. The air is full of anticipation as people wait to celebrate a whole new world.

With regularity each year as part of the ritual of life, this great time comes round when we can step forward with high hopes and new possibilities. It is proclaimed as a great day weeks beforehand and the weeks beforehand are spent agonizing over the meaning of the event and what it may have in store for us. People debate the relative value of the promised future and compare it with their past, some with great repentance as they rue their past choices.

People are asked to give up their old ways and the devoted have already started to invest and have declared their allegiance. The gospel of good news is hard at work in the media and the lively debates around town. Of course, as always, there are scoffers and nay-sayers, but the devoted have high hopes for this time of year.

Spring has also sprung and the grass is rising. Temperatures have warmed and people feel less burdened down by the oppression of the dark ages past. Light is about to shine in a world living in the half light.

Yes, it’s a great time and eagerly anticipated by the faithful and the new converts. Some have already opted for a new future and some stand on the sidelines and wonder. But the day is now coming and soon will be when the earth will be filled with the wonder of the new age.

Yes folks, on Saturday the Apple iPad is released, starting in the USA and spreading throughout the whole world.

Oh! Yes! Christians of course are also remembering death and resurrection this weekend as they celebrate Easter.
